Kicks Entertainment, the team behind the hugely successful Spilt Milk music festival and The Commons Street Feast, will be transforming the Patrick White Lawns into a massive Volksfest celebration this Saturday, 14 October.
The Bavarian Food Truck Village has all your mouth-watering German food covered. Local brewers, Zierholz will be cooking up spit roast pork rolls, pretzels and traditional apfelstrudel; Berlin Bangers will be working with their master butcher to bring you all the German sausages under the sun (including vegan and gluten-free options), and Alpenhütte’s mac & cheese shack will be on hand to serve up German spätzle-pasta, Gruyere cheese, caramelised onions and chives, along with their famous cheese pretzels. This is just a small taste of the range of food options that will be on offer!
There’ll be a huge line-up of musicians and performers to keep you entertained throughout the day. The Oompah bands will serve as the soundtrack to your Oktoberfest experience, playing traditional German anthems such as Ein Prosit and Fligerlied, as well as ‘classics’ like Seven Nation Army and We Are the Champions for you to sing along to. You’ll also find acrobats, roving musicians, fire breathers and much more as you travel around the park.
It wouldn’t be Oktoberfest without a beer hall! Oktoberfest Parklands have lined up some quality German and international beers to recreate a classic beer hall experience right here in Canberra. Along with their tasty food options, local European brewer Zierholz will be bringing a range of their very best brews for you to try.
