Canberra’s winter is predicted to be warmer this year, and it’s all thanks to the Handmade Winter Warmer Market on May 23.
Founder Julie Nichols says the Winter Warmer Market at the Albert Hall marks the third outing for many of the top-of-the-range local and regional designers associated with Handmade, Canberra’s Upmarket.
“I am also pleased to announce 15 new designers will be selling their creations for the first time at Handmade,” Julie said.
With a total of 80 stalls inside and out, there is something for everyone to ward off the winter chill. It may be a gorgeous homespun scarf, a stunning piece of jewellery or some food for the soul. On the day marketgoers will have the chance to win Donna Hay homewares or a custom print valued up to $225 by Col Ellis.
“The generosity of designers and market visitors has so far seen more than $4000 raised for Motor Neurone Disease and all this money goes to help local families affected by this disease.”
You can also enjoy local and live music and a delicious array of food. Real Chai is launching a new look and flavour with Chocolate Chai, signature tins and cup warmers.
There are special offers from Kidson Jewellery, Look Mama! greeting cards, H for Handbag, Lindsay and Edmunds Belgian Chocolate, Studio Amara, Posie Patchwork, Melanie Swan Designs, and Anna Stockel Designs. There will also be make up demonstrations on the day and an ‘on location’ photo shoot to win from Julie G Photography.
There is free parking at the Albert Hall, Yarralumla, but no ATM facilities at the hall.
