Canberra’s very first Craft Beer Festival will be held next Saturday 20 September at the historic Olims Hotel in Braddon.
The National Capital Craft Beer Festival will feature top Craft Beers and Brewers from all over Australia so beer enthusiasts and the beer curious can explore the craft of brewing, and sample some A-grade ales.
“It started off as a small idea, I contacted Little Creatures Brewery and thought it would be nice to do some tasting in the beer garden and now we’re combining top breweries from all over Australia, it’s going to be a big event,” said Daniel Gaul, Executive Assistant Manager at Olims.
The festival will be held in the beautifully landscaped English style courtyard at Olims and will feature live entertainment by the Choir Boys, gourmet food tasting and a charity auction with all profits going to the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group.
“We’re going to have some really nice organic meats supplied by Bush Goddess Foods, beer and food matching, and a charity auction of memorabilia donated from the key breweries,” said Daniel.
This is the start of what is believed will become an annual festival for the ACT, as the popularity of craft beer increases in the region.
Breweries appearing at the festival include Schwartz Brewery, Little Creatures Brewery, Matilda Bay, Lord Nelson, Barons Brewing Co, Coopers, Snowy Mountains, Zierholz Brewery, Prickly Moses and many more.
It is expected that the Craft Beer Festival will draw numbers between 500 to 1000 and with tickets just $20 you won’t find a better way to spend a warm Spring day.
