I mean, you probably took Monday just gone off anyway. Even though we did shout out and warn you that it wasn’t a public holiday. Sadly, we ruined a few people’s day, so we would like to apologise for that. In hindsight, ignorance is bliss and we should have let you do a ‘no show’ so at least you looked legitimately surprised when your manager asked where you were and why you didn’t think to call ahead. Moving forward, Monday 1 October is in fact a public holiday!
