Have you ever been out at a gig or concert and wished they had better beer? Or been at a brewery or winery and wished for better atmosphere?
The George Harcourt have answered both these questions by creating Untapped Festival which brings the best brewers and great live music from all around Australia to our backyard (well, more precisely, theirs).
In its second year, this year they are expanding on their musical lineup with headliners The Choirboys joining last years headliners Thirsty Merc, adding to a stacked line up that also includes The Androids, The Gadflys, James Southwell & Nola Funk, Sammy Owen Blues Band, The Spindrift Saga and Ripped Salvation.
It really is the addition of a superb list of craft breweries also attending that makes this festival so unique though. Breweries such as Sailors Grave, who are so elusive that you can’t even buy their beers on tap at their brewery in Orborst, will be there to give patrons an array of great beverages to try as they enjoy the top musical lineup. Be sure to also check out some of my other personal favourites – Batch Brewery from Marrickville and Beechworth Bridge Road, who do some delicious sour and gose style ales (if you are a cider lover who thinks they don’t like beer you definitely need to try this style of beer).
Rounding out the amazing atmosphere will be a selection of food trucks to keep patrons taste buds and energy levels delighted.
Festival organisers Leehmuis Hospitality and Booker/Producer, Tony Southwell, couldn’t be more excited to bring such a unique experience to Canberra. “This is guaranteed to be one of the biggest live music events Canberra has ever seen,” said festival organiser, Josh Leehmuis.
So, don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to have great live music combined with a superb beverage selection right here in Canberra.
Untapped Festival will be held at the George Harcourt Inn on Saturday the 9 February from 12pm. Tickets are $68 or $80 with drink tokens through the Untapped website.
