Canberra’s Mount Majura region is making a name for itself. Known for obsessively good wine at the Mount Majura Winery, prized local truffles straight from the Truffle Farm and now comes the announcement of a neon paradise music festival in September.

The Sweet Dreams Festival, created by locals Rohan Thomas and Marty Khoundavong, will transport attendees to a colourful dreamland complete with a glow-in-the-dark ball pit and giant neon animals. The event will take place Saturday 21 September 2019 at the Truffle Farm in Majura.

The festival line-up combines international and national talent with a strong roster of local artists, gearing the festival up to be the ultimate day of live music and visual experiences.

Co-event organiser Rohan Thomas wants to provide something unique to Canberra.

“The festival is Dreamland themed, bringing an element of all things surreal to life! We wanted to create a festival that isn’t just about the music you’re hearing – it’s also a visual experience, like stepping into a completely different world,” said Rohan. “The theme will incorporate unique concepts, from food – particularly desserts and beverages – to the look, feel and entertainment.”

On stage, Sweet Dreams will begin with some well-known local Canberra artists such as Citizen Kay, Kirklandd and Kirrah Amosa, before the evening is lit up by internationally-touring artists including MYRNE, Throttle and Luke Million.

The boutique festival also aims to celebrate the renowned food and beverage industry Canberra has to offer. All vendors will be locally owned and operated including Sabi Beverages and Capital Brewing Co.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale on Friday at 9am through Ticketbooth.
