The aftermath of COVID-19 has had a devastating effect on Canberra’s economy, especially in our hospitality industry. Large gatherings may be off the cards for a while, but people are keen to get out and start exploring our city again.
As many of you know Floriade is going to be a little different this year, but in no way does this mean less extravagant and colourful. The annual spring festival has been reimagined and designed to suit the current measures with many activities and attractions still happening around the capital, including a tulip trail across the city.
In a coordinated effort, NightFest is encouraging people to get back out supporting our local business into our community dining spots by launching NightFeast! For those thinking they had to wait until next year for the annual wonderment that is NightFest, think again!
On Friday 2 October for one night only, Floriade is inviting restaurants around the capital to participate in NightFeast. A night for locals to dine out and enjoy a specially crafted menu, degustation, banquet, offer or menu item celebrating the event. Not only will it encourage support of local hospitality businesses on their road to recovery, it also will bring a little taste of NightFest to each restaurant.
If you still don’t feel comfortable dining out just yet, look out for restaurants who are offering their NightFeast menu for takeaway or home delivery.
Participating restaurants will receive a decal for their window, promotion via the Floriade website and OutInCanberra content guaranteed to ensure bums in seats. Should you choose get involved, a list of resources for entertainment as part of your celebration will also be shared.
There’s no cost to enter and business will be in charge of bookings and 100 per cent of their profits. This is a fabulous opportunity for business to reconnect with the community as well as build exposure.
