The National Capital Craft Beer Festival is back and taking place this weekend from Saturday 17 April – Sunday 18 April at Olims Hotel Canberra.

In its third year, the 2010 National Capital Craft Beer Festival has changed from September to April, in hopes of kinder weather.

“These dates have been selected so that the festival occurs between the Easter and the Anzac long weekends, when the weather is still mild. In 2009, it was held on a cold rainy day, and we don’t want to repeat this,” Event Organiser, Dan Gaul said.

This year’s festival will feature craft breweries showcasing up to 80 beers, local gourmet food stores, live entertainment, giveaways and entertainment throughout the day.

Other activities include the Crafter Chef Competition, where local chef battle it out, cooking with beer and matching food with beer. You can also enjoy ‘Meet the Brewer’ segments and educational classes.

Saturday features headline act, Aussie rock legends Dragon who are sure to tear the roof off with their good time hits Are you old enough? and April Sun in Cuba.

With ‘sunny and 23’ predicted, it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy the sunshine with a cold one before winter rolls around.
