Still feeling saddened by the loss of Canberra icon, Pangaea? Well Blakstone promises to fill the gap.

This new restaurant has kept the tapas style aspect for lovers of sharing, but have also added a substantial list of tummy tempters, all dollars cheaper than their predecessor, Pangaea.

The team fuse modern Australian with both oriental and European influences to create an interesting array of menus, including; pizzas, tapas, a la carte, grills and more.

If you’re having difficulty choosing from the huge selection, Blakstone’s Manager Nick highly recommends the ‘Veal Scaloppine.’

Nick and his team have experience immense success since launching just weeks ago, proving that variety really is the spice of life.

“People want options and so what we’ve tried to do is deliver in the form of a casual, modern restaurant and bar.”

Although you’ll still recognise this venue, Nick and his team have lightly refurbished, making it a suitable lounging restaurant, where you won’t be daunted by which fork to use or what ‘brunoise’ means.

“We were inspired by the gastro pubs in Melbourne, which are just really comfortable.”

New to the space is Canberra themed stencil artwork by local graphic designer ELK, giving the venue a charismatic edge.

“We have a lot of fun here, and we want it to rub off onto our customers.”

But it’s not all fun and games for the team, Blakstone are committed to community and as such will be hosting a Salvation Army free lunch for homeless on the 15 December.

“We are just doing out bit for the community.”

If you haven’t had the chance to drop into Blakstone Restaurant and bar yet, be sure to pencil in a date soon – but call ahead, Canberrans are catching on
