It may only be the second month of the year yet holidays feel like too long ago. Take your partner or friends and escape to the vines in the relaxing wine region, Rutherglen for their annual Tastes of Rutherglen weekend Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 of March.
A simple and scenic 4-hour drive from Canberra’s CBD, Rutherglen is the perfect destination to start your autumn with tastes of some of the country’s most exquisite wines and local food over two epic days.
Rutherglen is renowned for its grape-rich terrain and even richer wine culture. With every sip, feel connected to land, people and lasting memories.
Each year, the wineries partner up with local food producers to create a perfectly matched tasting menu at each unique venue, where you can meet the makers themselves and learn about their wines, the vineyard and their process.
Showcasing over 200 wines from 19 wineries, the winemakers invite visitors to their cellar doors for tastings along with masterclasses, entertainment and kids’ activities during the day, with the itinerary spilling into magical dinners in the evening.
Winemakers of Rutherglen have also partnered with TAC and Dysons to provide a regional bus service from neighbouring towns to conveniently transport festival-goers to and from Rutherglen during the weekend.
There is also a hop on hop off shuttle bus carrying guests around to the participating wineries so you won’t have to stress about transportation, because we know you won’t be able to stop at just one wine…and you shouldn’t have to!
Make the March long weekend your chance to unwind amongst the vines and stunning views as you taste the local offerings and meet the makers of Rutherglen. Tickets are on sale now and are only $20, grab yours today so you don’t miss out!
Keep an eye out over the coming weeks as we curate your guide for the entire weekend, tying in all the best events of the festival.
