Little Istanbul

Honouring traditional Turkish flavours with an Aussie twist, Little Istanbul’s Head Chef, Kadir is passionate about making quality food that projects excellence and innovative techniques.

Inside, the restaurant is spaciously fitted out with plush blue dining chairs, sandstone features and intimate chandelier lighting. Also offering private rooms, Little Istanbul is perfect for a function, private event or special dinner. Their outdoor seating space is also available providing a more casual setting.

While keeping the tradition of Turkish cuisine at the heart of the restaurant there are a range of modern dishes influenced by Australian culture. The restaurants speciality dish is their lamb and chicken meal known as Kulbasti. Thin layers of grilled chicken breast and lamb backstrap seasoned with paprika, oregano and garlic under a bed of green beans, with a side of cucumber, lettuce, tomato and carrot salad, mint and garlic sauce and a bed of rice. The combination of textures and flavours make each mouthful bursting with flavour and by the end of the meal you are completely satisfied. To drink, try something new and ask for a Turkish Lemonade, made with beet sugar and sparking water.

Little Istanbul is open 7 days a week 11am to 9:30pm.

Mookie Burger

Burgers like you’ve never seen it. After the success of their Civic restaurant, Mookie Burger opened a second store at South Point, cooking up American burgers with a touch of Japanese influence.

Testing the limits, the restaurant does regular ‘Burger of the Month’ specials, putting together outrageous flavours and combinations to make one mighty burger. One that has stuck on the menu is their Mookie Sakura burger. Inspired by ‘sakura’, the Japanese name for cherry blossom the burger’s pink sauce stands out projecting a bright pink on the plate. Made with 100% natural ingredients the sauce is a blend of their classic Mookie sauce with a small amount of beetroot, just enough to change the colour dramatically.

The main difference between the Sakura burger and a regular burger is its nori rice bun. Mixed with their in-house seasoning and then made into balls and seared on the grill make the rice a perfect texture for the bun. Crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. In between the bun is a 100% Aussie wagyu patty with cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion and their in-house Portuguese jam.

While you are experimenting with new flavours, a Japanese Sake jelly shot in peach flavour can’t be missed! Served in a tall cocktail glass with a strawberry sugar rim.

Mookie Burger is open 7 days a week.
