Witchskull with Charlotte and the Harlots and B.C. – November 12
This November, Witchskull return to The Basement, their home stomping ground with Charlotte and the Harlots and B.C. After an extended period of lockdown, Canberra’s favourite doom metal merchants return to Australia’s premier live music venue for an evening of sonic barbarity. Lillian Albazi – November 19
The National Press Club presents renowned Australian jazz vocalist Lillian Albazi, who has just released her captivating debut album, After-Image together with her acclaimed jazz outfit. The bold album reflects Albazi’s musical beginnings and sees her perform a range of modern jazz styles with wit, playfulness, and sombre romanticism. Get your tickets here.
Lucy Sugerman – November 20
Presenting her debut EP ‘hurt that’s man made’ out on Nov 18th, Canberra’s own pop singer-songwriter and The Voice alumni Sugerman presents an intimate live & acoustic evening at Gang Gang Cafe of songs and stories in celebration of the EP. Sugerman’s confessional tracks never fail to win over the listener, with clever imagery and unapologetic emotion through their bold and spirited lyrics. The EP gives us a sneak peek into Sugerman’s mind, with twinkling production, delicate vocals and an angelic tone. While tickets are sold out, Gang Gang has a great outdoor area to sit and listen to the music outside.
S.Wells, Pip, and Doc Seltzer – November 21
Canberra singer-songwriter s.wells launches his new single ‘Disappointing’ off his upcoming sophomore release ‘Blood’ at Gang Gang Café from 5:30pm. S.Wells plays his own brand of folk touched by flourishes of alt-country. In an exclusively solo artist lineup, s.wells will be joined by Pip and Doc Seltzer. Limited tickets available. Sophie Edwards – November 27
Confessional and catchy, Canberra singer-songwriter Sophie Edwards’ is launching her new five song EP ‘Feel Again Soon’ at The Polish Club. Described by the singer as a ‘2 year backlog of music’, the EP takes a look into feelings of confusions and frustrations surrounding love and life. Edwards pairs hard-hitting lyrics with multi-genre explorations, to create moody indie-pop music. Her tracks have been described by Triple J Unearthed reviewers as raw, clever, youthful, and ‘overflowing with heart and charm’. Listeners may liken her sound to other much-loved Aussie singer songwriters like Missy Higgins, Alex Lahey, or Stella Donnelly. Get your tickets here.
