Watch a film at Sunset Cinema

Get your snacks together, snuggle in a beanbag chair with a wine in hand and watch the summer sun set before watching an outdoor film. Sunset Cinema at the Australian National Botanic Gardens is back for another binge worthy season of films, old and new. Catch new blockbusters such as Spiderman: No Way Home, No Time To Die and The French Dispatch, or classics such as The Lion King, Grease and Dirty Dancing. As usual, providing the perfect movie snacks there will be burgers, ribs and shakes from Boss Burger, grazing platters and classic movie snacks from the Snack Bar and wine, G&T’s and beer from the Sunset Bar.

Explore the world of Ancient Greece

The National Museum of Australia has a brand-new exhibition just in time for summer. Centred around the world of Ancient Greece, Ancient Greeks: Athletes, Warriors and Heroes explores competition through sport, politics, drama, music and warfare, illuminated through more than 170 projects from the British Museum. From 17 December 2021 to 1 May 2022, add a little culture to your summer and discover all things Greek, with a range of special events to support the exhibition.

Try new foods at Wilma 

Opening just in time for end-of-year celebrations, progressive Asian restaurant WILMA focuses on barbequing using primitive methods. Combining the punchy flavours of Southern Asian cuisine with locally sourced Australian produce, the restaurant’s crowd-pleasing menu will feature classics such as san choy bow, prawn toast and duck pancakes, as well as other thoughtful dishes like egg noodles with Balmain bug, steamed toothfish and scallop hot pot and a half roast duck.
