Hosted over three jam-packed, exciting and diverse days on Friday 17 to Sunday 19 February, the annual National Multicultural Festival brings together all the cultures that make up our beautiful nation in a celebration of dance, music, workshops and food.

  1. Cypher Brewing Co

Be one of the first to try Canberra’s newest brewery before their official pub opens in Gungahlin. Cypher Brewing Co will be pouring their range of beers throughout the entire weekend serving as the perfect refresher as you walk through the festival. Find them at Petrie Plaza.

  1. American Mardi Gras Mask Making

Get yourself prepared and looking fabulous for Mardi Gras by creating your very own fun and festive mask! Providing you with all the utensils and supplies, head to Glebe Park on Friday from 4pm and get creative!

  1. Edo Tori x Yaki Boi

Edo Tori and Yaki Boi are partnering up for the festival with what we can only imagine will be a delicious fusion of Asian street eats! Find them at Ainslie Place.

  1. Jumptown Jammers

As Canberra’s premier swing dance troupe don’t miss out on seeing Jumptown Jammers perform Lindy Hop, Charleston and Swing-era dances. Catch their performance on Friday from 8:10pm on Bunda Street Stage.

  1. Occasioni by Agostinis

Quickly becoming one of our favourite catering businesses since they started in 2022, Occasioni by Agostinis brings the best authentic Italian pasta, pizza, charcuterie, sweets and more! Find them in Glebe Park.

  1. Chinese Drumming Workshop 

Learn the basics of Southern Lion Dance drumming and other common instruments with Kung Fu Wushu ACT Inc. Played not only for the lion dance performances but also for kung fu demonstrations and purely as a drumming performance itself, get enthused and involved in a new type of music. Held in Glebe Park on Sunday from 10am.

  1. Yiayia’s Honey Balls

When your sweet cravings hit, order a deliciously morish donut ball drenched in toppings of your choice from Yiayia’s Honey Balls. Get them on Akuna Street.

  1. Mitch Tambo

One of Australia’s most unique and electrifying First Nations entertainers, Mitch Tambo will be performing at the Multicultural Festival on Friday night from 7pm at Glebe Park Stage. Performing as part of Eurovision Australia Decides, Australia’s Got Talent and closing the Fire Fight concert, watch on as he blends traditional Aboriginal sounds and language with contemporary beats and production.   

  1. Chocolate Tasting and Masterclass

Have a love for chocolate like no other? Why not learn the history behind the delicious cacao at the Embassy of Ecuador chocolate tasting and masterclass? Talking you through the story behind Paccari, the best cacao in the world and the company that created a World Class Chocolate with more than 300 awards, see how the bean-to-bar process works and the quality and flavours that has made it the world’s best organic chocolate. The workshop will be located in Glebe Park on Sunday from 11am.

  1. Italian Flag Throwers

Showcasing a spectacular show of acrobatic flag throwers with drums and antique horns, the Italian Flag Throwers will be performing across the entire weekend with shows popping up in City Walk, Ainslie Place Fountain and the Canberra Centre.
