If you’re a lover of spice and all things nice, then this one is for you. Verity Lane Markets‘ Chilli Week is making a heated return and it kicks off today, Thursday 9 May until Saturday 18 May.
Over 10 days, you can expect a spicy line-up from Verity Lane’s full list of vendors who will each be serving their hottest and flavourful chilli-infused dishes from across the globe.
“Chilli Week lets all our vendors celebrate a beloved ingredient amongst all of their cultural backgrounds and bring a bit of heat to the Market Hall for Canberra to enjoy in one special flavourful week”, says General Manager, Kathryn Oplantzakis.
Rest assured these dishes are not for the faint-hearted, including crunchy crumbed jalapeno poppers with risotto and cheese from La Cocina Pura, a spicy fried chilli chicken burger from Seoul Chicken, Sichuan peppercorn chicken bites from Super Bao, chilli chicken Ayam Rarang from Indonesian kitchen Rasa Rosa and an Amatriciana pizza with spicy nduja sauce from pizza masters, Pizza Artigiana.
It will also be your last chance to get your hands on your favourite dishes from Lim Peh’s Wonton Noodles and celebrate Chilli Week with them as they announce that May will be their final month at the Market. Celebrating all things chilli, get your hands on a Hainanese Chicken Rice, with scallion soy, a cucumber medley and garlic chilli sauce alongside their regular dishes.
And of course, Verity Lane Bar will have a fiery cocktail on offer in the form of a spicy mango margarita with chilli salt, set to leave your taste buds wanting more – or feeling the heat.
As usual, there will be extra bottles of milk on hand for those who thought they could handle the heat.
