Ambrosia Distillery has announced they are extending their offering to a moody lounge, where cocktails reign supreme, and the theme of the night is always Greek Mythology.
Located just down the road from their distillery, Ambrosia Lounge is Dairy Road’s newest spot for after-work and late-night drinks.
Headed by Founder Andrew Galbraith and Co-owner Tim Stevens, the lounge will offer Ambrosia’s entire range, as well as a huge list of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.
Highlighting everything they’ve come to be known for in Canberra, the lounge will showcase Ambrosia’s ethos for quality and uniquely flavoured spirits that turn into bespoke cocktails, mixed drinks, and enjoyable shots.
“My whole range has been designed for cocktails, so I’m really excited to show the diversity of alcoholic drinks that can be made with our spirits,” says Andrew.
A meticulous mix of flavours, try cocktails like ‘Aphrodite’ made with lemon myrtle vodka, limoncello and St Germain, or ‘Zeus’ with toffee vodka, coffee vodka, Kahlua and Violet Crumble.
“Our menu will be fun and sometimes unexpected. One we think will be popular is our ‘vodka bumps’, where you shot an Ambrosia vodka followed by a teaspoon of flavoured jelly balls,” he says.
Creating a menu that centres around the drinks rather than the food, expect a high-quality snack and share plate menu of charcuterie boards and cheese platters including a soft burrata and an oven-baked brie.
“It’s going to be simple but very delicious food. The lounge will be the perfect place to have a couple drinks and a cheeseboard with your friends, or where you find yourself at the end of the night,” says Tim.
Translating to ‘nectar of the gods’ in Greek Mythology, Ambrosia’s essence has come to life, with Greek sculptures, lush foliage, and gold features encompassing the venue.
“We wanted it to look like a modern Mount Olympus,” says Tim.
Upstairs will also run as a dynamic events space, where cocktail masterclasses, ‘create-your-own’ gin courses, chocolate making, and sculpting and cocktails classes will run regularly, taking over from the original distillery. It will also be available for private hire.
Since its launch in 2022, Ambrosia Distillery has been on a mission to get Canberran’s to try their spirit range. They now intend to complement the offerings of the Dairy Road precinct.
Ambrosia Lounge will be open from Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm to late from Wednesday 4 September. Visit Ambrosia Lounge’s website for more info and to make a booking.
