Your spring picnics are about to get a serious upgrade, of the sandwich kind…
Incoming Papi Deli, a pop-up food van dishing up fresh focaccia sandwiches made with authentic Italian provisions.
Set to make its Canberra debut at Floriade this spring, Papi Deli isn’t just another food truck, it’s a family affair. Bringing the essence of Italian deli heritage, the menu consists of five mouthwatering sandwiches made fresh by hand in real time.
Think The Papi’s Continental (The Casa), made with a combination of mortadella, salami, prosciutto cotto, provolone, antipasti, red pepper sauce, rocket and Italian vinaigrette, The Marco, with roast chicken, avocado, cherry tomato, lettuce and creamy green dressing, and The La Porchetta (a weekend special), made with roasted porchetta, fennel, green apple salad, salsa verde and Parmigiano.
While you can choose one sandwich to enjoy in between exploring Floriade, the Papi Deli’s Picnic Pack takes it up a notch. Inclusive of two Papi sandwiches, two drinks of your choice, Italian-seasoned fries, and a delectable tiramisu, all packed into a custom reusable tote, your lakeside lunch will be sorted. A red and white checkered picnic rug is also available to purchase to complete the experience.
Papi Deli will be at Floriade from Saturday 14 September to Sunday 13 October, from 10am-5pm.
