The Bay has had a little upgrade, in the form of a trendy new motel in Batehaven that’s giving Euro summer vibes.

Meet Casita. Translating to ‘little house’ in Spanish, experience the convenience of a motel but the luxuries of a hotel. Paying homage to the owners’ European roots, Casita joins as the ‘little cousin’ property and neighbour of The Isla motel which opened in 2022.

With families and larger groups in mind, the modern and stylish property is designed for those longer stays, with seven two-bedroom suites available and fully equipped with a kitchen and modern amenities.

Guests can also enjoy a communal outdoor area, laundry, outdoor shower, BBQ facilities, and easy access to the beach and epic fenced playground, which is a short two-minute walk away.

“We’ve designed Casita to be a home-away-from-home. A place for small gatherings and laid-back family adventures,” says Co-owner, Yanna Dascarolis.

“Our aim is to provide a much-needed accommodation option in Batemans Bay, catering to the many larger groups and families visiting the area. With the opening of Casita, visitors have an alternative to the traditional holiday cabins in the area, combining the luxury of hotel amenities with the comfort and space of a private apartment-sized suite,” she says.

Working alongside local studio, Clay Interiors, to bring the interior vision to life, Casita blends the natural and raw beauty of the South Coast landscape with moodier, nostalgic tones inspired by European aesthetics. Guests will also notice thoughtful artistic touches throughout, with bold artworks by Melbourne artist Dan Rushford.

Adding a touch of chic to Batemans Bay’s growing accommodation offering, Casita is now open and taking bookings starting at $250 per night with a 15% discount offered on weekly stays (excluding peak summer months).
