In the early hours of Sunday morning, a roar rose across Canberra as The Brumbies sealed a sudden-death victory in South Africa against The Stormers. The visitors truly launched a full-on raid in Cape Town, spurred by Joe Tomane’s hat-trick of tries within the first 25 mins.
Oh, and how good was that fend?
This week, The Brumbies cross countries, oceans and continents to challenge The Hurricanes in Wellington on Saturday afternoon. As the darkness sets, bars across Canberra will fill with fans in anticipation of another victory and a potential Super Rugby Final against the NSW Waratahs (who kick-off their own semi against The Highlanders just before 8.00pm).
The task won’t be easy, though. The Hurricanes won 14 of their 16 Super XV matches, with a massive Points difference of +170. It’s going to be a tough ask for The Brumbies, but should make for some exciting and open rugby.
So, where to watch? We’ve found five Canberra pubs that have been behind The Brumbies all season. Head on down to your local and join other fans for enjoy an evening of truly ‘super’ rugby.
