Events ACT
This Australia Day Canberrans are encouraged to come together to reflect, respect and celebrate the Australian experience, from its origins millennia ago to today. ‘Nainmurra Nguurruu Australia Day in the Capital’ reflects a term gifted from the local Ngambri (Kamberri) Ngurmal Walgalu Ancestors meaning taking care of camp. The event will commence with projections onto the National Carillon from 23 January featuring Australian of the Year recipients. National attractions will then also come alive with warm hues reflecting the colours of the campfire. On 25 January come together at Nerang Pool at Commonwealth Park for a meaningful First Nations Event and then from 26 January engage with displays of cultural diversity across multiple stages and food tents.
