As the hot afternoon sun shone down on the lawns of Parliament House, thousands streamed in to secure the perfect spot for Australia Day Live.

Kicking off the entertainment were The Wiggles who took to the stage in their Big Red Car, getting the younger members of the audience, and some of the older ones, on their feet.

Following an incredible display in the sky by The Roulettes, 80s rockers Ganggajang took to the stage with their classic Aussie hit, Sounds Of Then, complete with didgeridoo and indigenous dancers.

As the sun went down, more than 32,000 Canberrans packed out the lawns, dressed in all their green and gold glory.

2010 X Factor winner Altiyan Childs took to the stage, followed by Melbourne rockers Little Red, who played their hit ‘Rock It’.

The night was littered with appearances by special guests including Myf Warhurst and Todd McKenney, and a live cross to Gretel Killen in Dubai. The crowd were also treated to a live cross to Nowra, where Jimmy Barnes performed Working Class Man.

One of the biggest cheers of the night was saved for Australia’s Got Talent winners Justice Crew, who performed clad in Australia singlets and green and yellow socks.

The all-star lineup continued for the remainder of the evening with performances by The McClymonts, Jessica Mauboy, Stan Walker, Thirsty Merc and Ross Wilson.
