Easter Live @ Sub-Urban

Celebrate this Easter long weekend with 4 days of live music at Sub-Urban.

It all kicks off on Thursday, 1 April with local rock legends Squirrels live from 9pm.

Good Friday is set to be a big one, with Chicago Charles and the acoustic genius of Mark Rice from 9pm.

Head to Sub-Urban on Easter Saturday with Oscar from 9pm, and wind down on Sunday afternoon with Kiwi G from 5pm.

Massive Attack @ Royal Theatre

On a chilly Canberra night, 1400 Canberrans filed into the Royal Theatre in preparation for dark, cult 90’s trip hop outfit, Massive Attack.

With the venue only filled to a quarter capacity, it was clear that only ‘hardcore’ fans had invested $120 in a ticket. Shouts of ‘Canberra you suck’ came from the audience, with the incredibly tame and sometimes mute collection of punters non-reactive.

ANU School of Music 2010 Premier Concert Series presents Mike Price Trio

The School of Music 2010 Premier Concert Series kicks off on Wednesday 31 March with a dynamic jazz double bill, Mike Price Trio and Vertical, in Llewellyn Hall. Mike Price, guitarist and Head of Jazz Studies at the ANU teams up with his School of Music colleagues to make up the Mike Price Trio.

The music is a blend of styles from blues tinged jazz, reminiscent of guitar greats Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, and George Benson, through to the contemporary influences of guitarists such as John Abercrombie and Kurt Rosenwinkel.
