The Empire strikes back

After a much needed rest-year, The Cat Empire is back with a renewed thunder and the announcement of a whopping 16 show national tour.

Canberrans can rest assure that The Cat Empire have our city firmly in their diary, with a show planned for Sunday 1st March at the Royal Theatre.

Touring relentlessly for the last 8 years, The Cat Empire welcomed a stationary 2008.

“We honestly took a break because we didn’t want to get jaded with touring,” front man Felix said.

35,000 people turned up to soak up the early evening sun and take in the all-star line up of great entertainment.

Jessica Mauboy dominated, with a soulful performance and diva melodies, while fellow songstress Natalie Bassingthwaighte had the sea of Australian flags swaying to her chart-topper hits.
