Melbourne Cup Day @ Thoroughbred Park

It wasn’t just the race that stopped the nation, it was also a work free day for Canberrans and an excuse to kick up your heels with Canberra’s finest at Thoroughbred Park!

The weather was blissful, the champagne was flowing and the bets were being placed as eager punters filled Thoroughbred Park to full capacity.

Myer Fashions on the Field was a highlight this year, with a sea of oversized and elaborate fascinators bopping above eye level, with shades of tangerine and canary yellow a massive hit.

Post-Stone

Last weekend University of Canberra played host to its annual music festival spectacular, Stonefest 2008.

With the unveiling of a newly positioned ‘superstage,’ a juicy all star line up and 40 years securely tucked under its belt, Stonefest saw thousands of oversized sunglass clad indie kids run through gates over Friday 31st and Saturday 1st November.

It all kicked off at 7.30pm on Friday and shot through the night, with TZU, Regurgitator, Blue King Brown, and heaps more. French trash remix star, Alan Braxe, had sweaty bodies worshiping the bass robot style right up to 4am.
