The Herd have been around the traps for more than 7 years and their politically charged lyrics, anthem hits and carefree mentality have truly ingrained them into Aussie hip hop culture.

The recent addition of lead female vocalist, Jane Tyrrell, marks a new, more complex sound for The Herd and a new era for the genre.

With the release of their 4th album, Summerland, The Herd have hit the road, with a long list of shows lined up, and one just for us at ANU Bar on Friday, 8 August.

It’s only been open for a matter of weeks, but HaHa Bar is well and truly the ‘buzz bar of the season.’

With a shift from the norm and a lean toward the creative, the Haha Bar team have created a haven for Canberra’s urban crowd, in a superb lake-side location.

We chat to HaHa Bar co-owner Aaron, and get the goss on this groovy little hub.

What was the inspiration for opening HaHa Bar?

The gentle buzz of caffeine, a restless imagination and an ethos of taking risks to enrich the surrounds we live in.

You won’t find a happier chap than Pete Murray right now. With a home studio set up at his old farm house in the hills just outside Byron Bay, two beautiful children, complete artistic freedom, sold-out shows and chart topping records… what’s there to be miserable about?

To top it off, Pete has just released the first album that he can honestly claim to be 100% satisfied with. Pete’s happiness glows warmly through every guitar chord, every strike of the piano keys, every drum beat, and (nearly) every lyric on his new album, Summer At Eureka.
