Pop sensation Natalie Bassingthwaighte has just been added to an already star line-up of entertainment at Australia Day Live 2009.
Taking place on the lawns of Parliament House, Sunday 25th of January, Australia Day Live will bring Canberra to life with a mamoth live concert.
Canberrans can rock out to Trial Kennedy, Lovers Electric, Jessica Mauboy, Dan Kelly & The Ukeladies, Wendy Matthews, Gurrumul, Brian Cadd, John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew and of course Natalie Bassingthwaighte.
“We are proud that Canberra hosts such an iconic event to kick‐start the national celebrations”, said Warren Pearson, Chief Executive Officer of the National Australia Day Council.
“Australia Day Live 2009 is a national tribute to everything that is great about being Australian. It’s a
celebration of who we are and what this country is about.
“It’s fantastic that Australia Day Live is back on again this year and without the Australian Governments ongoing support the tradition of Australia Day Live would not have been realised for its sixth year in 2009,” said Pearson.
A huge turnout is expected for the evening’s entertainment and Canberrans need to make sure that they are back from the coast by the 25th of January to join in the celebrations!
The events will begin with the announcement of the Australian of the Year Awards at 4.30pm, followed by the
Australia Day Live concert from 6.30pm.
Don’t miss the three and a half hours of rocking acts that showcases the great variety of Australia’s music scene, including alternative pop, top 40 hits and serious rock.
Come and join the crowd of more than 35,000 Australians and celebrate what’s great on the lawns of Parliament House.
Further line up announcements will be made in the coming weeks.
