Best for one stop shop: Niche Markets
It’s the one stop shop for all your needs (pictured). The Niche Markets are the latest addition to the Fyshwick marketplace. As the name suggests these markets are catering for niche shoppers. The market is home to 40 new specialist traders, with many small local retailers. There is everything from fashion, flowers, jewellery to homewares, food and of course coffee!
Thursday – Sunday 7am – 5.30pm. FREE.
Best for Fresh Produce: Capital Region Farmers Market
If you can justify waking up early on Saturday for an abundance of locally sourced fresh food then Capital Region Farmers Market is worth checking out. Held at EPIC this place is hustling and bustling full of delicious food to try and buy. The market is jammed packed with fresh fruit and vegetables to take home. The Farmers Market has a wide range of fresh produce to select from and whilst your there you can even pick up some plants for your garden!

Best for Knickknacks: Handmade Canberra
This market may not roll around often enough, but when it does it’s not one to miss. The essence of the market is to support small, local and even emerging artists showcasing their creations. Stalls in the past have included Christmas decorations, skincare, pet supplies and furniture. The market is definitely a place to pick up a unique piece of Canberra to take home. Better yet, most of the materials used are sustainable and recyclable.
Next market will be held on 20 & 21 October. No entry fee but gold coin donation appreciated.
Best for variety: Old Bus Depot Markets
Nothing says easy more than Sunday morning’s rocking up to the Old Bus Depot Markets to explore what delicious food and knickknacks you can spend your pocket money on. These markets have a wide variety of homemade jewellery, art, home goods and much more. The food is unbelievably delicious and fresh. From dips, chutneys, bread and cheese, to even wood fire gourmet bread. You’ll be leaving with a very full belly. Be sure to try the chocolate dipped strawberries – they’re delish!

Best for Fashion: Canberra Fashion Market
Hoping to find one-of-a-kind vintage items? Well, Canberra Fashion Market is the place to find it. These markets have on sale both new and vintage clothing to add to your closet. This one is also held at the Fitzroy Pavilion at EPIC. There will be plenty of shoes, bags and accessories to keep you busy. If you love a good designer brand bargain this is the place for you!

Best for kids: Canberra Kids Market
The name says it all! Canberra Kids Market is the ultimate market hub for the kiddies. This one is not too far around the corner either. Selling quality pre-loved kids goods this will be a place to snag a good deal for the little ones. The market will be held at the Fitzroy Pavilion at EPIC. Be sure to check it out to find goods such as cots, strollers, clothes, prams, party supplies and much more. Designed for children aged 0-12 there will be something for every littley.
