With 2018 just around the corner, NYE in the City and Bass in the Place have unveiled the set times for the two massive free concerts.
Following the energetic headline show from ARIA award-winners Art vs. Science at 10:30pm, local DJ Exposure will provide the soundtrack to 2017’s final moments at NYE in the City.
Canberran outfit Brass Knuckle Brass Band will be putting on a show in Civic Square from 8:15pm, playing the sounds that landed them on the bill at both Falls Festival and Woodford Folk Festival. With covers of superstar artists such as Lorde, as well as some great original songs, these guys are sure to get feet moving.
Local singer/songwriter Harry Carman will be kicking things off at NYE in the City from 7pm. With comparisons to the likes of James Bay and Ed Sheeran, he combines catchy tunes with heartfelt, open lyrics in a perfect match.
Over at Bass in the Place, one of Australia’s top DJs, Ember will be warming up the dancefloor from 11pm until 11:55pm, with Canberran DJ Blanke taking over proceedings directly after the countdown and midnight fireworks.
Soul Sistas will launch Bass in the Place as the first fireworks display lights up the sky at 9pm, with performances from Clique and Peter Kiemann to follow.
All of the very best local food trucks will be on hand to keep you nourished while you party, including Tikka Stand, Potato Swirls, Pure Gelato, Jacko’s Pizza and Shotclock Espresso.
Both of these events are free and all-ages, with a ban on glass and alcohol to ensure a safe and enjoyable time for all attendees.
