Get ready to melt into a winter wonderland as the Xmas in July Festival returns with their deliciously popular Raclette Igloo Experience. Starting one week before Xmas in July, from 22 June to 2 July, this experience transports yourself to the heart of French culture and indulge in a traditional dish that will make every cheese lover drool.
After an almost sold-out year in 2022, the raclette igloos are returning with an upgraded experience at Parkes Place Lawns. An opportunity to embrace the winter chill in style, join your family and friends in a private igloo and immerse yourself in a cosy, mountain-style ambience while you feast on gooey raclette cheese, hot mulled wine and roasted marshmallows.
Creating the full experience, as you enter, walk through pine trees and twinkling fairy lights with snow falling around you. Then be greeted with a mulled wine and a French-speaking waiter who will enhance the cultural experience by giving you a step-by-step guide on how to properly enjoy raclette.
Set up with the ultimate comfort meal, each table will have two kilos of raclette, a selection of four types of meat, boiled potatoes, pickled onions and cornichons. To compliment the meal, enjoy more mulled wine and your own mini bar with a selection of French wines (for an additional cost). Then, end your evening gathered around the fire pit roasting giant marshmallows.
The Raclette Igloo Experience will run from 22 June to 2 July and Xmas in July from 29 July to 2 July at Parkes Place Lawns.
