It’s always hard to decide where to find a hearty, well priced meal, but Ojo Café & Bar in Tuggeranong has the answer. Whether you want to sit outside on the terrace or in the main dining room inside, this laid back bar/restaurant has something to please everyone.

Located in The Courtyard outside the Target entrance to the Tuggeranong Hyperdome, Ojo (pronounced oh-jo) also boasts a lounge bar, pool table, and arcade games. They also boast chilled-out live music on Friday nights during summer, and if you want to have a function, this large venue has a room for that as well!

And it’s not just the functionality of the place that keeps the customers coming back time and time again. Every week Ojo offers three or four new specials created by their Head Chef, so there is always something new to try.

“Everybody is different, and if there is a bigger choice it means that there is more to come back to,” Ojo business manager Penny Wood said.

“It is important to keep things fresh and new. With the weekly specials we normally have one fish, one dark meat, a risotto or maybe a pasta dish. For our main menu, it varies from scotch fillet steak, Kilkenny pot pie, burgers or even something like Nachos. Our genre is hard to pin-point because we do such a wide mix of cuisines and styles.”

Apart from the food, the Stella lounge bar at Ojo offers a fresh mix of cocktails as well. Everything from the classic margaritas and long island ice tea, to more contemporary cocktails and mocktails.

Of course the best place to enjoy all this food and drink is on the outside terrace.

“As summer has come around more people want to sit on our outside terrace. It’s more interactive with the people going by and shoppers that are going in and out of the Hyperdome.”

“Live bands occasionally play out there as well during summer. We keep it low key, with chilled out acoustics, jazz, and sometimes a bit of soul. It’s a really nice venue for new groups or singers who want to give it a go.”
