Canberra sleepwear designer, Emma Kneriem created her own ‘Enchanted Garden,’ where the kittens don frills and spring blossoms pop with colour, last Friday, 25 September.
Emma K’s SS 09/10 collection encompasses everything romantic and feminine about springtime and the parade was appropriately set in the picturesque surrounds of Yarralumla Gallery Cafe.
Pink blossoms were in bloom and champagne was circulating along with fluffy scones and scantily clad ‘garden creatures.’
The new collection ‘Enchanted Garden’ is a wearable mix of flirty throw over nighties, high-waisted sleep shorts and fine cotton camis, which truly blur the line between sleepwear and daywear.
Emma K portrayed this effortlessly at the event, wearing one of her collection’s signature throw-over nighties in lilac as a dress with heels.
The collection showed highlights of pastels; lilacs, powder pink and marshmallow white and cotton lace trimmed garments with a more wearable, comfortable edge.
“The inspiration behind the fabrics was taken from the garden, floral prints and delicate pastels, pink rose and lilac colours mixed with whites,” Emma said.
The runway opened with a puff of smoke, creating an ‘enchanted’ dream – like setting and ended with the release of butterflies into the blue spring sky.
‘Enchanted Garden’ flaunts Emma K’s signature with this collection the most well balanced, wearable collection we’ve seen so far. Gasps from the audience of ‘oohh I want that!’ could be heard below the runway music.
