The near freezing conditions didn’t deter punters from racing, tasting, browsing and grazing last Monday, Anzac Day long weekend.
The OutInCanberra Race ‘n’ Taste kicked off at 10am with the betting ring, traditionally the heart of Canberra racing, transformed into a market day atmosphere.
Everything from Turkish Gozlome, to soy candles and local fashion was on display, including handmade cards and spicy mulled wine for warmth.
With the bustle of a 7 race program adding zest to the day, local wineries were also scattered in marquees on the grass, offering tastings and wine sales for those watching the races or just browsing the stalls.
The OutInCanberra Race ‘n’ Taste Best Stall competition saw shoppers vote for their favourite, with Eling Forest Winery being awarded for their bridal theme, mini wedding cupcakes and glorious mulled wine.
