A new distillery located on a stunning property in Mogo on the South Coast has announced it will be opening this Friday 27 September.
With gorgeous hilltop views, Foxdog Distillery will be launching with a full dining and tasting experience. The on-site café will feature wood-fired pizzas, and a menu designed to pair perfectly with seasonal cocktails and gin flights. Tours and a two-hour distilling workshop will then be available later in the year, for those who want to create their own uniquely flavoured spirit.
Adjacent to Mogo Wildlife Park, Foxdog Distillery is family-owned and operated, and will be joining the family’s luxury accommodation Jaguar Stays, offering a complete ‘Sip & Stay’ experience. Bookings for weddings, celebrations and corporate functions have also begun, providing the perfect backdrop for your next event.
Launching with six distinct introductory flavours that spotlight the finest homegrown and locally sourced ingredients, Foxdog’s Signature Gin, Navy Strength Gin, Mandarin Gin, Samphire Gin, Signature Vodka and Vanilla Vodka will all be available to try in a range of different alcoholic beverages.
“Samphire, a naturally occurring native species harvested from the property on the banks of the Tomaga River, which feeds into the ocean at Mossy Point, is one of the interesting flavours we’re launching with. Known for its unique, salty taste, we feel lucky to live where it grows natively,” says one of the key family members behind Foxdog Distillery, Kellie Plenty.
Crafted using traditional techniques and guided by a seasoned distillery advisor, these initial offerings are just the beginning, with plans to offer limited edition spirits and seasonal surprises.
“We’re also excited to announce that our Rosella Gin will be coming soon, crafted with handpicked native flower buds grown right here at the distillery. It adds a beautiful floral taste and vibrant colour, truly capturing the essence of our land,” says Kellie.
“Foxdog Distillery is more than a business to us; it’s our legacy,” says Kellie “We’ve poured our hearts into this project. Every bottle we produce carries a piece of our family’s story and our love for this place. We can’t wait for people to experience it.”
As the latest edition to the South Coast’s growing culinary and craft scene, the launch of Foxdog Distillery comes at an exciting time as Mogo has welcomed the first stage of the highly anticipated mountain biking tracks. With over 70km now open and another 80km expected to be complete in 2025, Foxdog Distillery is perfectly positioned on the new Mogo Trails.
If you want to be among the first to try Foxdog Distillery, bookings will be required until October long weekend, with walk-ins welcome after that period.
Foxdog Distillery will be open from Mon-Thurs, 11am-4pm and Fri-Sun, 11am-8pm.
