Welcome to the weekend, Canberra!

Here’s a bunch of fun things to do if you are looking for inspiration and something to brighten up your two days of leisure!

1. DMC World Championships
Transit Bar – Friday night from 8.00pm

The wheels of steel are back at Transit Bar tonight as Canberra’s best DJs go all-out to prove they should make it through the heats and on to the next stage of the competition. These are always awesome affairs, with an incredible standard there for all to see. Nothing will be left on stage… it’s a ‘crash or crash through’ kind of show. BAM!

2. Circas’ ‘S’
Canberra Theatre – Friday and Saturday from 7.30pm

Beauty, strength, grace… hula-hoops. It’s all there to see in a stunning combination of modern dance and acrobatics. Wednesday’s performance had the crowd gasping, laughing and totally enthralled by the sophisticated routines and impossible poses. Don’t miss out… Grab your tickets NOW.

3. GWS v North Melbourne
Manuka Oval – Saturday 1.40pm

The Squinters, as they are affectionately known (Western Sydney folk drive into the sun in the morning, and into the sun heading home!), are back in Canberra this weekend for the last AFL match of the season. Everyone loves to ‘Boo a Roo’, especially after they ditched us for a transfer to The Gold Coast (ha!) so get down to Manuka Oval on what looks like being a glorious day.

4. Game of Thrones Party
The Durham
Saturday from 2.00pm until 9.00pm

Winter is Coming… Dear God, not another morning like Tuesday! Well, to to fair, it’s almost at an end – but don’t let that stop you heading down to The Durham for what is sure to be a lot more fun than a Red Wedding. There’ll be prizes from Iron Bank of Braavos and more wine than a whoring Lannister could ever hope to consume. Game on!

5. Fireside Festival
Lerida Estate
Sunday afternoon from 12.30pm – 3.00pm

Back to reality, and the beauty of Canberra’s wine district. To celebrate this year’s Fireside festival, Lerida Estate is hosting an afternoon of fine music that will only serve to enhance the offerings of Cafe Lerida and the winery’s magnificent Pinot Noirs. Tee up a driver, or buy some bottles to take home with you. Either way….WIN!

There you go – certainly there is something for everyone in Canberra this weekend!
