Bringing an exciting new experience where competitive socialising is at the core, Funlab is launching its first Holey Moley golf and Hijinx Hotel in Canberra.
Opening in the Canberra Centre on Friday 5 April, the 350-person capacity precinct will include four function rooms, karaoke, two themed bars, 18 holes of mini-golf and 15 Hijinx Hotel immersive quick playrooms.
“At Funlab we’re passionate about creating spaces where people can let loose and experience the joy they had as a kid in the playground, as an adult. We combine competitiveness, fun, delicious eats and unique cocktails with a theatrical and immersive environment – a fun-filled experience like no other,” says Funlab CEO Michael Schreiber.
With over 25 venues across Australia, Holey Moley mini golf is no ordinary putt-putt course. Famous for its multi-sensory labyrinth, each hole will be themed around pop culture and nostalgia, allowing Canberra visitors to putt their stuff to favourites including 742 Evergreen Terrace and Moon & Pars, plus three new holes exclusive to Canberra.
Win or lose, the fun doesn’t stop there, as guests can end their friendly competition with a drink at the renowned Caddyshack bar, a nostalgic 80s and 90s-themed bar with signature cocktails and eats, perfect for all off-the-green needs.
Meanwhile, those who join Hijinx will quickly realise this is not your ordinary hotel. Inviting guests to play not stay, as soon as you arrive feel the frenzied, fantastical and Instagrammable experience through 15 quick play immersive rooms.
Each room draws from nostalgia and combines the theatre and wonder of a quirky New York hotel and the whimsical delight reminiscent of Willy Wonka meets Wes Anderson. Designed for two to six players, teams must work together to complete challenges in a four-minute window to score points on a leaderboard. The rooms will include favourites such as Adore-a-ball Pool, Scrambled and Poke the Dot, as well as four brand-new rooms just for Canberra.
Then, like Holey Moley, when the challenges are complete, guests can make their way to the bar to enjoy bright and colourful cocktails and delicious food.
Designed for all ages, from a school holiday treat and a fun Saturday night activity to hens/bucks nights and work functions, a little bit of harmless rivalry is strongly encouraged.
