Relax and enjoy a meatball-themed movie Saturday, Sunday and Monday afternoon in the IKEA Restaurant from 4pm – playing Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009). There’s face painting from 1-4pm each day, and on Monday a fun game the whole family will enjoy.
The range of IKEA meatballs continue to grow with the upcoming addition of the new plant ball, coming to stores in middle of 2021. IKEA acknowledges that many people around the world are concerned about climate change and the Swedish company are working hard to deliver on our ambition to become climate positive by 2030. One piece of the puzzle is increasing the proportion of plant-based food. Based on pea protein, the plant balls look, taste and feel like its meaty counterpart – but with only 4% of the climate footprint. In the restaurants, the substitute dish will be sold at the same low price as the meatballs and will also be available at the Swedish Food Market.
Come for the meatballs, stay for the flat packs. National Meatball Day at IKEA commences Saturday 7 March, with activities and exclusive offers continuing until Monday 9 March.
