A cosy boutique in the heart of Cooma, Alpine Abode has a focus on simple, liveable interiors with gorgeous additions just waiting to be added to your home.
Full of carefully curated treasures from Australian and international brands, find a mix of gifts, occasional furniture, bedding, kitchenware, artwork, skincare and gourmet pantry items.
A mix of vintage, modern and rustic pieces to suit a relaxed Australian lifestyle, interior designer and owner, Elle Bryce says Alpine Abode’s style inspiration is “a modern rustic vibe.”
“We love neutrals and earthy colours, warm textural fabrics and products made from natural materials,” she says.
Finding the lack of quality home decor in Cooma challenging when renovating her own home and through her studies, Elle decided to open the small Snowy Mountain town’s first boutique.
Stocking brands she had come across through her work and loved, locals seemed to share the same feelings, which saw Alpine Abode receive such a positive response it allowed Elle to expand to a bigger store within 12 months.
The items are perfect for local alpine housing, including those lucky Canberrans with a holiday house in the region, as well as homes in the city.
For winter, Elle says to check out the new blankets and throws from Sydney-based brand Saardé that are all made with natural fibres including merino wool. Other notable brands include Merry People Boots, Inartisan, Ivory House Australia and Summer Salt Body.
If you’re looking for a touch of local, ask to see the collection of soft furnishings from local company Restore Grace or charcoal sketches from local artist Julie Herringe.
Another great tip for those Canberrans heading to the snow, make sure to pick up a pack of hot chocolate and homemade marshmallows from Grounded Pleasures on your way.
Stocking uncomplicated, well-made and beautiful items, you just might find a unique piece to add to your home or a gift for a loved one.
If you’re unable to shop in-store, Alpine Abode’s gorgeous products are also available to buy online.
