As we get ready to say farewell to Floriade and its beautiful blooms for another year, if you haven’t had your yearly visit or first-time experience, maybe these last-minute events and activities will give you the push you need.
Dogs’ Day Out
An annual highlight of the Floriade program, Dogs’ Day Out invites pups and their owners to explore the festival and frolic amongst the flowers. Held on the final day of Floriade on Sunday 16 October, there will be dog treats and accessory vendors, a mobile dog wash, a dog agility course, best dressed competition and more.
The Great Big Bulb Dig
A new event to Floriade, take a little piece of the festival home with you at The Great Big Bulb Dig. Held on the day after Floriade ends on Monday 17 October, purchase a $15 ticket and gain access to a Synergy Bulb Dig bag to fill with beautiful bulbs of your choosing. With profits going towards Synergy’s charitable partners for Floriade, SEE-Change and Raw Potential, come in your gardening clothes, bring a shovel and get ready to dig!
Windows to the World
Giving you the rare opportunity to see behind the gates of Canberra’s embassies and high commissions, Windows of the World invites you to experience traditional dance performances and explore exhibits of traditional clothing and art and taste local foods and drinks. Kicking off on Saturday 15 October, embassy’s include Cambodia, Canada, Peru and Macedonia.
