Friday 27 March is the next Night at the Museum and we want to light your inner ‘sparkler’ and have you experience joy in unexpected ways. We aren’t talking that old fashioned joy thats on your Nanna’s Xmas card. We’re talking the kind of joy that sizzles through your body and leaves you vibrating with energy.

Frock up and frolic with us as we unleash JOY and turn the Garden of Australian Dreams into a wonderland full of surprises. We are going to have you jumping for JOY in our adult jumping castle, rediscover the joy of dancing with swing dancing and samba, just to name a few.

Grab a joy inspiring cocktail and indulge yourself. There are going to be giant bubbles, burlesque, hot rods, music, bars, art, and games. Find the joy of winning or experience the Fool Factory’s performance featuring the Joy Guru. Get ready to burst with laughter in our laughter yoga workshop with Laughter Club ACT or just soak up the sunset on our dreamy garden watching Graffik Paint transform the White Cube with giant graffiti.

We love the challenge of looking at the Museum’s amazing collection in new ways at each Night at the Museum. This time the theme is joy, from our Eternity gallery.

Joy, delight and glee — sheer fun — cheers the heart. The simplest pleasures, shared joys or extreme gladness, can transport us into other worlds. There, hearts thump, happiness reigns, ecstasy is contagious and laughter is free.

Love the joy of competition? Then it is time to compete in the Museum Game. Make a team of up to four players and, armed with an iPad, explore the galleries to make connections between the objects on display. Be surprising, take a creative leap and, most importantly, be intriguing to your competitors, because that’s how you win.
