A café where your pup is almost more welcome than you, if you haven’t stopped by Stella’s By The Lake on your walk around Lake Ginninderra, or made a special trip, then you’ve got a puppachino or two to catch up on!

Canberra’s favourite dog-friendly café, Stella’s By The Lake offers a warm and friendly café for families, friends and all their four-legged friends. Family-owned by father and daughter duo David and Ashlinn Reid, and affectionately named after their beloved dog, Stella, the café focuses on serving simple but delicious food (and pup treats are no exception!)

Recently switching up their all-day breakfast and lunch menu, their popular Buttermilk & Ricotta Pancakes and French Toast specials are now available on the regular menu, as well as a new house baked granola with seasonal berries, sweet yoghurt, berry compote, and your choice of milk. Welcoming the warmer months, a new selection of warm salads also features on the new menu including Chicken & Soba Noodle and Mediterranean.

“We’ve made some exciting changes to our menu to better cater to our customers’ preferences. We’ve introduced a variety of lighter meals, which are perfect for those looking for a quick bite. We’ve also added a new kids’ menu,” says Co-owner, Ashlinn Reid.

Meanwhile, the pup menu is full of even more treats, expanding to now feature doggy ice cream, complimenting the other menu offerings including the Peanut Butter and Chicken Donut, Puppachino, and Dog Beer with Turmeric.

“Stella’s by the Lake is not just a café; it’s a community hub where everyone, including our four-legged friends, is welcome. We pride ourselves on being Canberra’s favourite dog friendly café, and our beautiful lakeside location adds to the experience,” says Ashlinn.

Recently taking home two Restaurant and Catering Australia awards for both the Breakfast Restaurant and Café Dining categories, Stella’s has been recognised for their exceptional quality and outstanding service in the café industry.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to have our hard work and dedication recognised. As a father-daughter duo running Stella’s, these awards validate our commitment to creating a warm and welcoming space for our community. But none of this would be possible without our incredible team. They bring passion, energy, and heart to everything they do, making Stella’s the special place that it is,” says Ashlinn.

Even hosting regular dogs’ day outs for specific breeds, Stella’s aim is the bring together owners and their beloved dogs and create a unique sense of community. Whether it’s a day dedicated to Dachshunds or Golden Retrievers, you’ll find no better place for you and your pups!
