After the wildly successful collab with Rizla and their Braddon neighbour Zaab last year, Rizla is going national, teaming up with Biji Dining from Melbourne. Bringing a collab of South Asian flavours and of course, Riesling on Canberra Day Long Weekend, you won’t want to miss these restaurants team up.

Solely operated by highly regarded Chef Harry Mangat, Biji Dining is a restaurant pop up that has built a superb reputation using local and native Australian ingredients in Indian Cuisine. Previously working with Melbourne restaurants Little Andorra, Avani Wines, O.My, Ides, Etta and more, Mangat draws on his own experience from some of the best kitchens in the country such as Hare & Grace, Attica and Doot Doot Doot.

For his first collab in ACT, Mangat will work alongside Rizla Head Chef Talia Cullis to showcase their creativity and once again show the versatility of Riesling, through a $95pp set menu with an optional drinks pairing for $60pp.

Owner of Rizla, Andy Day says he is excited to finally join forces with Biji Dining after COVID previously hindered their plans.

“Two years overdue frankly! We had to scuttle our collab plans back in February 2020 with the first COVID lockdown, and it’s been a scheduling tetris ever since, but finally we can bring Harry to Canberra to show off his bonkers, super creative and super delicious food.”

“We were really excited to hear when Harry branched out to do his own business under Biji. He’s a slick operator and he’s always impressed us with his creativity and execution.”

Mangat adds, “Canberra’s food scene is incredibly dynamic with amazing talent constantly coming up with new, unique concepts. I’ve always loved coming over to eat and now I get to fire up the kitchen at Rizla! Andy’s a good mate and I love what he has created.”

“I’ll be creating a menu that’ll be inspired from different regions of India. Think bright and spicy street-food to start, sweet and tangy pickles and ferments and slow roasted pork from the little-known Coorg region.”
