Pull off the highway and drive over the cattle tracks into the beautiful Rose Cottage establishment for the ultimate relaxing, warm and friendly experience.
Once you have walked through the garden paths the first big decision is deciding where to sit. Do you want sun or shade? Do you want to sit in the cool atrium right outside the café or on one of the many decks? Well, wherever you choose, get ready to immerse yourself in the beauty and ultimate serenity of this country setting.
The next decision: What to eat? At Rose Cottage you’re in safe hands. Chefs Kimmy and Sandi (who are also twin sisters and two of the best in the business) love to create and cook great quality food that keeps everyone coming back for more.
The Cottage Schnitzel is very popular among the Schnitty lovers. Great for either lunch or dinner (and on Thursdays and Fridays are only $15.00!). Topped with tomato sauce, avocado, bacon, mozzarella cheese and a swirl of ranch dressing it’ll have your taste buds in a daze. Try the Aussie – topped with bacon, egg, mozzarella cheese and a BBQ sauce swirl – for something different. Meanwhile, the purists don’t need to stress, the original Schnitty is available with your choice of gravy, pepper, Diane or mushroom sauce with a side of salad and a stack of chips!
The pizzas are just as flavoursome with all the usual toppings – including Meat Lovers, Hawaiian, BBQ Chicken and Supreme. The True Blue is a standout, made with bacon, egg and onion on a BBQ sauce base with mozzarella cheese and the Garlic Prawn Delight is just that, a delight, with garlic prawns, avocado, spanish onion and mozzarella cheese. All pizzas are available Thursday to Sunday for both lunch and dinner.
Wednesdays is strictly Burgers and Beers, all served with chips and salad and almost too big to take a bite from. From 6.00pm to 8.00pm for only $15.00 you get a schooner of tap beer or a glass of house wine and can choose from the 10 burgers on the menu. Favourites are the Beef Burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and beetroot, the Cottage Burger with THE LOT, and the Calamari Burger is a nice change with lettuce and tartar sauce.
The menu also features special dishes such as Kimmy’s Thai Beef Salad, a Spinach & Feta Filo, Beer Battered Flathead Fish and Beef Kebabs. Meanwhile there are plenty of options for the kids, as well as chips and things to snack upon. Rose Cottage also makes seasonal changes to the menu.
During the week start your day at the Woolshed Café with breakfast and a coffee from 7:30am until 10:00am. On the weekends take your glass of wine into the Rounded Rose Nursery where you can wander around and purchase some fresh flowers to take home.
Functions are very popular at Rose Cottage. It is one of the only places that has plenty of room to fit more than one function on the one day without anyone even noticing! There is a range of packages that include food platters and buffet style meals to make your occasion extra special.
So if it’s a celebration, a birthday, a wedding, an anniversary, a family dinner night or just a catch up with friends, the Rose Cottage is the perfect place to be all year round. Warm and cosy during Winter with the open fireplaces, fire pits and drums blazing; cool and relaxing in Summer with shady seating areas; and heaps of live music to set the mood and keep you entertained all day (and night) long.
