This July, Canberra CBD Limited will turn Garema Place in the heart of the city into an Alpine-themed festival site featuring a 360m2 open air ice-skating rink.

Opening on Friday 1st July, Skate in The City runs for the entire month of July, seven days a week, and is the place to be seen and the centre of winter frolicking for Canberra in 2011.

With up to six skating sessions a day and a capacity for 200 skaters, there’s room for everyone to enjoy the thrill of open air skating day and night.

Every Friday & Saturday night Stars on Ice will perform a variety of themed exhibition skate shows and during the school holidays special daytime shows for all the family to enjoy.

The Canberra Centre will present Fashions on Ice every Friday night at 6pm providing a great way to finish the work week with a ‘cocktail hour’ style skate session.

Thursday through Saturday evenings there’ll also be a Winter Marketplace specialising in quality original products.

The licensed Apres Cafe, hosted by Tosolini’s, is the perfect place to watch the action or enjoy a romantic drink under the twinkling lights after a skating session.

On a cold July day, Canberra’s winter festival is the ideal way to bring family and friends together and warm the spirit.

Be sure to book tickets early to make sure you have a chance to enjoy this unique opportunity.
