The end of a decade is fast approaching, but we aren’t worried because we have already made plans to start 2020 on high note. Our vineyard friends from Contentious Character are hosting a January 1st New Year’s Day lunch (11am-5pm) in the vines with all-day long entertainment.

Contentious Character often open their cellar doors to visitors, the team has built a solid reputation for outstanding events, though the New Year’s Day party is set to be the best fun yet. Live country blues music by TheGuitarCases, Canberra’s hardest working original musos will setting the tone for the laid-back day.
‘Twixmas’ – the word used to label those all-important relaxation days between Christmas and New Year’s officially ends on New Year’s Day, meaning the Contentious Character lunch is the last day to be completely switched off and make the most of the final days of the break!
The event is suited to all budgets and groups. Bring your loved one and make it an intimate day, catch up with your friendship group for a big annual gettogether, or get the kiddies and doggo out of the house for an awesome day outdoors.
Whoever you choose to bring, kick the New Year off with exceptional wine and a package tailored to suit your likes, mood, crowd and budget.
Entrees include a choice of grilled prawns, arancini or duck liver pate. Select from a Heirloom carrot salad, porchetta or barramundi for mains. And, don’t forget the dessert! A Golden Gaytime ice-cream dessert or lemon myrtle pannacotta will end the day on a high.

LAWN DINING ($50) – For those wanting to laze and chill out close to the vibe. Bring your loved one, best friend, and the kids can run around with the family pet or play games, dance and sing along with of TheGuitarCases. Enjoy a Pickers Platter with sides of Cauliflower Fritti, Crispy Squid.
DRINKS ($30)- additional paired wines option, alternatively drinks will be available for purchase separately on the day.
