Move over Tinder, because Canberra’s got a new hotspot for sparking romance. Nestled amidst the rolling hills just outside Tharwa Village, Twyllo Flower Farm isn’t your average flower shop. It’s a vibrant tapestry of stunning blooms, rustic charm, and events that’ll have you smashing that “book now” button.
Imagine this: a field bursting with colour, the air buzzing with happy bees and the delightful scent of fresh-cut flowers filling your senses. That’s the magic of Twyllo, a family-run farm where sustainable practices meet breathtaking blooms.
Twyllo’s heart lies in its flower paddock. Once barren grazing land, it’s now a haven for vibrant blooms. Teigan and her family prioritise regenerative farming, using techniques like deep mulching and brewing their own compost – basically, they’re treating the soil like royalty, and the flowers are thanking them in a riot of colour.
Keen to get amongst it? Twyllo isn’t just about the flowers (though they are pretty darn special). They’ve got a whole bunch of events designed to awaken your inner flower child:
Petals & Picnic for Two | March 16th
Picture this – a romantic evening spent strolling through the flower fields, learning how to harvest your own dahlias, and then unwinding with a decadent charcuterie picnic, live music by Canberra artist Jack Biilmann, and sipping on Proseccos, beers, and frozen margaritas. You’ll also get a large vase & flowers to take home. Twyllo knows how to set the stage for a special date night, that’s for sure. This one’s happening this Saturday, March 16th, so you’ll have to get in quick! Click here to grab your tickets now.
Nature’s Palette | April 7th
This workshop combines your love for flowers with the joy of creativity. You’ll tour the farm and then learn watercolour techniques from renowned artist Cheryl Hodges, using Twyllo’s stunning blooms as your muse, with a decadent grazing table by your side. The next available date is April 7th, but spaces are limited to 10 people, so head to this link to book now.
These are just a taste of the exciting experiences Twyllo offers. Keep an eye out for their “pick your own” events, where you can create your own personalised flower bouquet, or even inquire about hosting a private celebration amidst the blooms.
Head to Twyllo Flower Farm and get ready to be swept away by the beauty of nature, the warmth of a family-run business, and a whole lot of floral fun.
