The OutInCanberra People’s Choice Awards saw thousands flock to their computers to vote over a four week period for Canberra’s ‘Best Dining Venue’ and ‘Best Bar/Nightclub,’ and this year the competition was fierce.

Your winners were announced and crowned in an evening of anticipation and exhilaration last night, at the AHA Awards for Excellence, Royal Theatre, Convention Centre.
In its second year of trade, Cream Café Bar has triumphed as the recipients of a vast range of awards, including last years OutInCanberra People’s Choice ‘Dining Venue 2008’ and ‘Best Large Casual Dining Award 2007,’ AHA National Awards. Cream Café Bar’s edgy metropolitan fit out is only matched by its high level of service, charismatic team and delicious meals.
In January of this year Academy nightclub underwent a full refurbishment of the Candy Bar and facelift of the popular downstairs area. Its title as the ‘OutInCanberra People’s Choice Bar/Nightclub’ adds to a lengthy list of achievements including ‘Canberra’s Best Late Night Entertainment Venue 2006 and 2007,’ ACT AHA, and ‘Canberra’s Best Late Night Entertainment Venue 2006,’ AHA National.
Owner of Academy Club and Edgars Inn, Frank Condi was awarded the highly contensted ‘John Press Award,’ recognising the outstanding contribution to the industry by a publican or bar owner.
