Partnering with a second local winery, Cubby and Co have unveiled two new tiny homes at Murrumbateman’s Yarrh Wines.

Nestled in the vineyards of the Yass River Valley, cabins ‘Kira’ and ‘Mawson’ are redefining regional escapes, offering those modern comforts we tell ourselves we can’t live without while still whisking you away to the simplicity and relaxation of an off-grid retreat.

Located just 45 minutes from Canberra, Yarrh Wines is renowned for its sustainable winemaking and stunning rammed-earth cellar door. Surrounded by the uninterrupted beauty of the bushland and vines, both tiny homes celebrate the natural environment with locally sourced materials and design features.

Kira, affectionately named after the first dog on Yarrh’s farm, features an earthy palette with large windows of views across the vineyard and rolling hills, an inbuilt bed nook, and a concrete island bench complete with a bar seating area, cooktop and farmhouse-style sink.

While Mawson, a homage to Yarrh Wines founder Neil McGregor’s father, reflects its surroundings with blackbutt timber cladding and an interior palette inspired by the bush. It features high ceilings, large windows and an open shower that connects to the deck, bringing the outdoors inside.

A collaboration that goes beyond business, Cubby and Co founders Erin Wilson and Daniel Discipio, and Yarrah Wines founders Fiona Wholohan and Neil McGregor formed a close friendship during the project.

“Designing these homes was a deeply creative process,” explains Wilson. “Every detail was considered to create a calming, luxurious space that connects guests to the landscape.”

“Neil’s help with tractors and machines and Fiona’s listening ear and sense of humour turned what could have been challenges into shared memories. Their generosity and kindness shaped this project in ways we could never have imagined. They are two of the most inspiring and kind-hearted people we have met,” says Discipio.

With numerous wine tasting experiences, a visit to Yarrh Wines’ cellar door during the stay is also a must, connecting guests with the history and produce of the area.
