One of Canberra’s most promising artists has put together his most ambitious project to date. On exhibition at the Nishi Gallery from 6-20 February Tommy Balogh will showcase VOYAGE, a culmination of a year of research and experimentation.

VOYAGE celebrates our inner and outer space through abstract paintings on illuminated plexiglass and polyester material.
Many of Balogh’s works are a response to NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope imagery. His paintings aim to touch upon the mystery or outer space, whilst drawing you into the beauty of the inner space and experience.

“The exhibition is a stepping stone to more elaborate and ambitious creative projects. Although I am an emerging artist, this show presents something new to the visual arts landscape. My own voyage begins with this show, moving on to art trade fairs including one in NYC in April this year. It’s a very exciting set of prospects for a local Canberra artist,” says Balogh.

VOYAGE is set to launch at the Nishi Gallery in the NewActon precinct 5 February.
