Exclusive to Dendy Cinemas, Canberra’s Capital Film Festival returns on Wednesday 15 to Sunday 26 June.
What can you expect? A program of 30+ local and international feature films and documentaries from around the globe across 65+ sessions, including several short films from the Sydney Film Festival Dendy Short Film Awards
“We have searched far and wide for the best features and documentaries from around the world. We couldn’t be prouder to be presenting award winners from this year’s Sundance, Berlin and Cannes Film Festivals, as well as a number of outstanding Australian films,” says Capital Film Festival programmer Andrew Perkins.
While you’ll have to wait until Friday 27 May for the full program, a selection of films to look forward to are ones by French mime, filmmaker, actor and screenwriter Jacques Tati. Although he only made a handful of films, Jacques Tati ranks among the most beloved of all cinematic geniuses. Six of his comedies will feature in the Festival; Jour de Fête, Monsieur Hulot’s Holiday, Mon Oncle, Playtime, Traffic and Parade.
Curating another stellar line-up in the form of local food and beverage, the Festival has partnered up with Capital Brewing Co, Babich Wines, Shellfish Group, Gather Café and Doma Hotel to provide the ultimate movie snacks.
