Handmade Markets at Exhibition Park- Friday 7th – Sunday 9th December
The Handmade Markets are back for another weekend! For an unbeatable atmosphere of excitement, shop around for beautiful handmade gifts and get into the Christmas spirit! With vendors of homewares, fashion and food from Canberra and interstate, handmade is a great place to buy unique artisan products while supporting Australian small businesses. The markets will run from 5pm – 9pm on Friday and 10am – 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Find them in the Budawang and Coorong Buildings with entry through the Conference Centre entrance between them.
Canberra Youth Centre Artistic Program Launch- Friday 7th December
Got some creative talent in the family? The Canberra Youth Centre is excited to announce the launch of their 2019 Artistic Program. CYT is a not-for-profit youth arts company that provides young people aged 7-25 years with the opportunity to explore, extend and develop their drama skills with emerging professional artists. The event will include all of their major works and other performance opportunities throughout the year. It will be hosted at the Gorman Arts Centre from 5.30pm – 7pm. Christmas Market at the Canberra Wine House- Saturday 8th December

RSPCA’s Christmas Open Day- Saturday 8th December
Attention all pet lovers because the festive season is about to get a whole lot cuter. The RSPCA Shelter is opening its doors from 10am to 2pm and welcoming the Canberra community to visit and enjoy a day with their furry friends. The day will be filled with Santa photos with your animal friend, the opportunity to buy a real Christmas tree, adoption reunions, rescue groups, retail bargains, adoption price reductions, and gelato and coffee vans. You will be able to take a tour of the shelter, pat some adorable dogs and cats and even adopt a new pet! Does getting into the Christmas spirit get any better? We think not. Extended Shopping hours begin at Canberra Centre- from Saturday 8th December
If you haven’t already, you can start to get your Christmas shopping sorted with extended opening hours at the Canberra Centre until Christmas! Open until 6pm from Monday- Saturday, 9pm Friday’s and 5pm Sunday’s, you can stress a little less!
Community Clean-up Day at Lake Burley Griffin- Sunday 9th December
When you think of Canberra, one of the things that come to mind first is our gleaming Lake Burley Griffin. To keep the lake beautiful, join in on Clean-up Lake Burley Griffin day from 9-12pm where community lake user groups are asking the public to join in cleaning the rubbish from the lake.
